Katie's 15th Birthday Party

Sunday, April 17, 2005

Howdy folks. It's beenlike a month since I've written anything because my computer was down.Anyway, my parents are currently recovering from our first boy-girl party (with the exception of when we were 5). It really wasn't all that bad tho. Katie got some really nice presents, and Vicky (I luv u!) fixed my computer. How she did it i'll never know. Her party was supposed to be "a Night in Paris," but it ended up being more like a night in Paris, Texas with the barbeque chicken and ranch dressing and imitation french croissants. But it was still a lot of fun. After dark my parents were so worried about any 'mischief' that my dad turned on a big ol' floodlight in the backyard.l0l. It was funny, especially when Bill started dancing...I'm cracking up just thinking about it. Yesterday we had to clean up for the party, and today we have to clean up after it. I think it was all just an excuse to get us to do some housework. haha. two certain people...ahem...seemed to talk up a storm throughout the party...*cough*flirt*cough*. I couldn't get a word in edgewise. So everybody talked, danced, played cards, grabbed a soda, drank a quarter of it and left it somewhere not remembering whose was whose, it was all good. Poor Bill was the only senior. Other than him the oldest person there was a Sophmore. (Katie's a Freshmen). Bill is cool, and has a bro Katie's age who was supposed to come too but had a campout or whatever. So I'm bored and am rambling on about my sis's party, sounds lik fun, don't it? So yeah....talk to ya l8ter

Big Sis

Wednesday, March 09, 2005

I get mad at my sister. A lot. Most of the time for good reason. But today she was really nice and helpful. So helpful, that it makes you feel guilty for all the times you were unjustly mad at her, even guilty for some of the times you had good reason to be mad. I'm experimenting with different blog sites, and she really helped me out with one blog I made. She is such a whiz at computers, I hadn't even asked her to get rid of the ugly title on my blog,( I had mentioned how ugly it was) and she (in less than five minutes) got rid of it and the ugly sparkles that trickled down the screen. I love my big sis. Thank you Katie!

Flag Football

Tuesday, March 08, 2005

It is safe to say that I am not the best at flag football. You could even call that and understatement. But for whatever reason, I just don't like it, and I'm not good at it. I do try, though. I participate in games and try to understand what the guys are talking about when they are going over plays. Because, however, I am not particularly skilled in throwing, catching, running, flag pulling,(you name it) they don't throw the ball to me very often. I mean, I can see why, I get exited if I catch a ball less than 20 yards away, but coulsn't they at least let me get some practice? How do they expect me to get any better if they never throw it to me? At one point, (I had just missed an easy pass), a boy whose name I will not be mentioning says to the other guy on my team, "Don't throw it to the girls, (Insert his name here)." It made me so mad! I didn't say anything about it, but I sorta wish I had mentioned it to the coaches. oh well. I'm leaving for Jazz & Hiphop in a few minutes.

Sibling traumas...

Sunday, February 27, 2005

My sister is grounded for the next three weeks for unnamed reasons. When this happens, she is famous for finding at least a dozen loopholes for each restriction given for her punishment. If no loopholes are found, you can usually catch her doing whatever she isn't supposed to when my parents aren't home. Needless to say, while I was watching television last night, (my parents were out) I watched as she quietly slipped into the chair beside me trying to watch the show with me unnoticed, (I'm a stickler for following rules and she most likely didn't want me to catch on to her scheme). Aside from what I am saying, she is a truly good person and sister, just not always obedient when grounded. Here is my dilemma: Do I immediately tell her to step away from the television, do I wait and tattletale when my parents get home, or do I just let her sit here, avoiding punishment? I decided to wait. Not long after, when she realized she was safe for the time being, she began to ask me to turn up the volume, pause it because she had to go to the bathroom, etc. Once that began, and I saw that she was taking advantage of me, and I became agitated. As she would ask me for things, I whipped out my big words,(they drive my sister crazy). She would say,"Can you skip back to a couple scenes ago? I had to go to the bathroom." I would respond with," You don't have jurisdiction over the TV. You shouldn't even be in here." or,"I am not going to cater to someone who is grounded from the television." Without realizing it, I made my sister agitated aswell,(there have been many times when I, using exponentially large words, have accidently belittled her). So we were both mad, and missed the climax of the movie arguing,(I skipped back to where we first started arguing afterwards). Today, she again began watching TV. After all that she still had the nerve to watch television. So I quietly approached my mother and told her the tale I now tell you. She later confronted my sister and in my book, all was solved. Did I do the right thing though? Should I have confronted her from the start? Should I have not confronted her at all? Please leave your thoughts.
